I HAVE been living in North Yorkshire for a year and have experienced driving on the A19 regularly.

I find the journey on it taxing, especially with the low, bright sun we have experienced this winter.

There seems to be regular accidents in certain spots, including one earlier this week (Echo, Dec 20).

Perhaps the system that is used on the M25 round London could help? There are lights above the road that come on, slowing the traffic down intermittently when needed.

Sometimes it only needs for the speed to be reduced by 10mph for a mile or so to help the traffic to run smoothly stopping traffic jams and accidents.
