IT IS Halloween again and the usual nonsense is taking place - conspicuously so in Bishop Auckland Market Place (Echo, Oct 31).
Am I alone in disapproving of this annual tomfoolery?
There are such things are evil spirits and supernatural horror - of that I am absolutely convinced.
I am equally convinced that you shouldn’t mess with them. You do so at your peril.
I equally disapprove of the so-called Goths and their appropriation of Whitby.
Whitby is a beautiful historic town with a wonderful Christian Heritage. It was where the Abbess Hilda lived, the first English female saint, and also the home of Caedmon, the first English Christian poet.
It is them we should be thinking of when we think of Whitby, not of ruddy Dracula.
