DR PETER WILLIAMS (HAS, Oct 28) makes some points about fracking and gives us the means of proving him right or wrong.
He claims that experts are saying that fracking in Britain will be uneconomic – if that is true, then let Third Energy prove it.
If Third Energy discovers that fracking won’t pay, then it will go away after cleaning up as it is required to do by its licence. No need for protests – the banks will do the job for the protestors!
If fracking is proven to be viable, then it’s up to Parliament and the Government to address any environmental issues. If protestors want to break the law, then they must face the consequences.
Anthony J Foster, Peterlee
