AFTER reading your report about the new, tougher laws regarding animal cruelty, can I just say a very big thank you to Redcar MP Anna Turley (Echo, Oct 2).
She has been campaigning for a long time now for tougher sentences for animal cruelty and has succeeded in getting them introduced.
Someone has to speak up for these unfortunate animals.
Well done Anna, we need people like you who care about their welfare.
