THERESA May has been weakened by the recent General Election, but to leave Chancellor Philip Hammond in office does nothing to strengthen her position.

This influential minister refuses to accept the democratic will of the people and therefore is unfit to hold a top office of state.

Philip Hammond has taken advantage of the PM’s recent absence on vacation to promote his fake Brexit and, without cabinet backing, has suggested the government plans to delay strict border controls and world-wide trade deals until 2022.

In defiance of official government policy, the Chancellor constantly campaigns for a meaningless Brexit, including continued membership of the single market and unrestricted immigration from Europe.

Philip Hammond wants to use a “transition period” to lock Britain indefinitely into all the aspects of the EU from which our country yearns to escape.

The PM has contradicted the Chancellor on the immigration issue, but the anti-Brexit guerilla warfare inside the government should cease forthwith.

Philip Hammond has to be silenced, especially with the Brexit negotiations underway.

Theresa May must sack him now.
