A SERIES of free dog health check sessions will be held next month to help dog owners ensure their pet is fit and healthy.

The free checks, carried out by PDSA veterinary nurses, will include a body condition score and weight check, teeth and gums check, eyes and ears check, a coat condition check and a general fitness checks.

The sessions will be held at the following times: Thursday, June 14, between 10am-5pm, at Cockerton Green; Friday, June 15, between 10am-5pm, at Asda, on Whinbush Way; Saturday, June 16, between 10am-5pm, in North Lodge Park, and Sunday, June 17, beween 10am-4pm, in South Park, by the clock tower.

Appointments will be made where sessions are busy.

Microchipping and nail clipping services will be available for a charge and nurses can give free pet care advice.

Darlington Borough Council’s dog warden will be at the Cockerton Green and Asda event throughout the day to give advice and tips on looking after dogs.
