COMMUNITY organisations in Teesdale are being encouraged to apply for more than £100,000 of funding from their area action partnership.

The Teesdale Action Partnership (TAP) has £133,000 to support projects in the area over 2017/18.

The funding covers TAP's priorities for the year which are: children, young people and families; older people and employment, enterprise and training.

It also has funding to help tackle issues relating to welfare reform and a capital small grants fund for community organisations.

In the children, young people and families category, there is £17,500 available with the board looking for projects which develop activities which support and promote children and young people's social and emotional an/or physical wellbeing.

TAP's Youth Fund also has £22,500 to spend for youth activities for those aged 11 to 19.

The Children’s Small Grants Scheme is also offering £7,500, for those aged up to 11.

The Older People budget has £25,000 to spend on projects which support those living with dementia or activities which improve their health.

Meanwhile, for the Employment, Enterprise and Training budget, there is another £25,000 up for grabs to address issues around supporting people into employment or training, allowing businesses to take on more staff or improving the quality of jobs available.

The deadline for most funds is September 11.
