A MAN has been captured on CCTV violently shoving a dog to the floor of a pub.

RSPCA inspectors are appealing for information following the incident in the King’s Head pub, in Newgate Street, Bishop Auckland, just after 11am on Saturday morning.

The man, who is believed to be about 50-years-old, is described as white, with dark brown hair and dressed in trainers, grey tracksuit bottoms and a navy blue T-shirt with white edging.

The camera captures the man speaking to someone through an interior door before turning to leave the premises.

The dark brown or black dog can then be seen cowering on the floor.

Inspector Clare Wilson, of the RSPCA, said: “Out of nowhere the man can be seen shoving the poor dog out of his way with the sole of his foot.

“It is really aggressive and completely unnecessary.

“The man can be seen quite clearly in the footage so we are hoping someone out there will recognise him and we will be able to get in touch with him.

“We would really like to speak to the man in the footage and also anyone who saw this happen.”

Witnesses or anyone with any information should call the RSPCA our inspector appeal line on 03001-238018.
