THE next in a series of free events for dog owners will be early next month thanks to a partnership between Hambleton District Council and Dogs Trust.

The events promote the importance of health checks and microchipping – which gives assurance that if a pet is stolen or lost, it has a better chance of being returned.

And Stokesley’s town hall, is the venue for the session May 6, from 11am until 3pm.

There is no need to book and trained officers will be on hand to provide free health checks, nail clipping, training and health advice and micro-chipping and checking,

Information packs containing useful information and resources for those who are thinking of getting a puppy or those who have just got a puppy and also for staying healthy with your dog will also be available at the session.

Every Hambleton dog owner can get their pet chipped for free by going along to one of the sessions saving around £20 to £30. Dogs Trust is donating the microchips and aim to chip all dogs attending each session.

They can also check or update existing microchips.
