A SCHOOL has been named a champion for its commitment to the National Citizen Service.
St Bede’s Catholic School and Sixth Form College, in Lanchester, has been honoured for its work to promote the government-backed scheme for teenagers.
The Champion School status also reflects the number of young people from the school who elected to go on the NCS programme run in the summer of 2016.
Hayley Phillipson, NCS Recruitment Coordinator, said: “Staff and students at St. Bede’s are always very welcoming when NCS visit their school.
“The management are supportive in promoting this fantastic programme to their students so we would like to thank them for their assistance. Places are now open for NCS this summer and I’d urge students to sign up and change their summer.”
