A POPULAR bike ride event has announced its dates for 2017.

The Ripon Rotary Bike Ride will take place on May 13, 2017.

The event consists of a 100km circular route starting from Bishop Monkton Village Hall, with a water and refreshment stop every 17km along the way, including a lunch stop at Sheriff Hutton Village Hall, and tea and cakes at Bishop Monkton Village Hall at the finish.

The ride has an arrival time of 7am to 9am, and participants can set off from 8am. The entry fee is £30 and the online application gives details of how to buy a bike ride gift token. The rider information pack can be downloaded, which includes a 10 per cent discount pack for Chervin Cycles.

The aim is to raise funds for Dementia Forward, Scleroderma Research and charities supported by the Rotary Club of Ripon.

Family and friends of cyclists are asked to sponsor participants generously to make a real difference to people's lives.

Anyone who prefers to volunteer to help on the day should e-mail co-ordinator@riponrotarybikeride.org.
