A GROUP of kind-hearted staff from Darlington Memorial Hospital is planning to travel to a children’s hospital in Laos to improve x-ray services.
The team needs to raise £3,000 to cover the cost of flights and educational resources they need to help train x-ray staff at the hospital in South East Asia.
Dr Ramdas Senasi, consultant paediatric radiologist, at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, said: “When I learnt that the hospital has the equipment to do x-rays and other scan, but the staff don’t know how to use it, I knew we had to do something to help. “Radiology is used for obvious things such as diagnosing broken bones, but it’s also an essential part of identifying and treating a wide range of illnesses.”
