TWO men have appeared in court accused of carrying out a string of offences over the weekend.

Daniel Robinson, 25, and Simon John Brian Clark, 33, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court on Tuesday, September 27, jointly charged with two counts of burglary.

Robinson, of Oxford Terrace, Bishop Auckland, was also charged with driving a motor vehicle dangerously, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, using a vehicle without third party insurance, driving whilst disqualified and possession of both Class A and Class B drugs.

Clark, of James Street, Bishop Auckland, was also charged with assault by beating.

The alleged offences took place between Saturday, September 25 and Sunday, September 26 in Bishop Auckland.

Both men were remanded in custody by chair of the bench Thomas Reay.

They will appear at Durham Crown Court on Tuesday, October 25.
