TWO motorcyclists have died following a collision in North Yorkshire today (Friday, October 2).

The two riders had been travelling in opposite directions on Suzuki motorbikes on the B1257 between Malton and Amotherby when they collided at about 11.50am.

Police say the men were both from East Yorkshire, one aged in his thirties, the other a man in his sixties.

Investigators are now appealing for any witnesses who saw the incident or the events leading up to the collision to contact them on 101 and ask for the Major Collision Investigation Team or email MCIT@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk

The road was closed to allow emergency services to deal with the collision and to allow investigators to examine the scene. It reopened at 5pm.

Police are not yet in a position to release the identity of the men who died.
