A SUPERMARKET worker has admitted stealing almost £30,000 from his employers.
Kelvin William Anderson stole £29,507 while working at Aldi in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, between February 2013 and September last year.
The 34-year-old pleaded guilty to a charge of theft by employee at the town’s magistrates’ court on Wednesday, September 2.
Kevin Ross, prosecuting, said magistrates’ sentencing powers were not sufficient, adding: “This is a figure of more than £29,000. It involves 19 months of systematic offending with various thefts and various frauds in attempt to cover his tracks.”
The bench declined jurisdiction and committed the case to Durham Crown Court on Wednesday, September 23.
Anderson, of Worcester Place, Bishop Auckland, received unconditional bail.
