A DUO with an incredibly distinctive vocal style are set to bring their 'Wisdom, Laughter and Lines' to Middlesbrough Town Hall.
Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott will be performing on Saturday, October 31 as part of a tour in support of their new album.
‘Wisdom, Laughter and Lines’ – due for release on October 23 - is the pair’s second album following the critically acclaimed ‘What Have We Become’.
The two albums are their first since the multi-million selling days of The Beautiful South, who in the 1990s and early 2000s released a string of critically-acclaimed records.
Paul Heaton said: “Jacqui is one of the best singers I’ve worked with and is also part of my past.
“This new album came together easily because we work so well together. The album title ‘Wisdom, Laughter and Lines’ derives from a line in one of the songs and it sort of sums up where I am in life.”
And Jacqui Abbott added: “It’s just great to be singing again and I’m excited about playing these new songs live.
“We had such a good run together previously and it’s just a real pleasure to be working with him again and singing these fantastic songs.”
Tickets are £23.50 and are on sale from 10am on Friday, September 4.
