A WOMAN died after the car she was travelling in overturned and landed in a field.
The silver Renault Clio was heading towards Pickering on the A169 from Whitby when the male driver lost control on Fylingdales Moor at about 3pm on Sunday.
The 23-year-old was airlifted to the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, by the Great North Air Ambulance, where she later died.
The 24-year-old driver suffered minor injuries and was arrested on supicion of dangerous driving.
Both were from the Doncaster area.
Witnnesses who saw the Renault before the accident should call North Yorkshire Police on 0845-60-60-247.
