MOTORISTS have been warned to allow extra time for journeys as a stretch of the A19 is resurfaced.
Contractors for Highways England will work on the northbound carriageway for more than two miles near Thirsk, between Knayton and Nether Silton, from Monday (June 27).
The work will be carried out from 8pm to 6am during the week until the work is completed on Friday, July 8.
Highways England project manager Phil Leng said signed diversions would be put in place.
He added: "When complete, this project will provide drivers with safer and smoother journeys along this stretch of the A19 in North Yorkshire.
“Every effort is being made to ensure disruption to traffic and local residents is kept to a minimum, and a speed restriction of 50mph will be set during the day for safety reasons for traffic running on temporary surfaces.”
