A BUSY route in and out of Durham will be closed for a week from Tuesday (December 1).
Lowes Barn Bank will be shut from the junction with the A167 near the Duke of Wellington pub and the A690 Neville’s Cross Bank from Tuesday, December 1, to Tuesday, December 8.
Durham County Council said the closure was for “essential resurfacing work”.
Traffic will be diverted via the A167 and A690.
People living on Lowes Barn Bank and the nearby Steadings estate will be able to reach their homes via Park House Road and Hastings Avenue.
John Reed, head of technical services at Durham County Council, said: “This work is part of our ongoing essential maintenance programme to improve the county’s road network.
“We would advise motorists to expect some delays and we appreciate the public’s patience while the work is completed.”
