A19 blocked after multi-vehicle accident
MOTORISTS were hit by lengthy delays during the morning rush-hour after a five-vehicle crash on a major road.
A silver Volkswagen Polo, a silver Honda Civic, a blue Mazda MPV, a grey X-Type Jaguar and a white Citroen van were involved in the collision on the A19 flyover near the A66 and Portrack Lane at 7.35am today.
No injuries were reported but the A19 suffered delays in both directions while recovery took place.
Three lanes were initially closed on the southbound carriageway of the A19, wth two reopening by about 8am.
The road was fully reopened by just before 9am.
