A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a crash which caused rush hour chaos on the A19 this morning.
Four vehicles were involved in the crash on the southbound carriageway near East Herrington, Sunderland, at 7.20am.
Police said no-one was seriously injured, but one person was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The road was closed to allow the road to be cleared and vehicles recovered.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving above the alcohol limit.
Officers are carrying out enquiries into the collision and are appealing for witnesses.
