Escaped prisoner on the run

POLICE are searching for a prisoner who escaped as he was receiving medical treatment at hospital.

Scott Trevor King was taken by police officers from Washington, Tyne and Wear, to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead.

He was receiving treatment after being detained at Washington Police station, but escaped from the hospital.

He is described as wearing a green top, blue jogging bottoms, a black trainers and silver handcuffs.

Police are investigating a suspected sighting at Sunderland Enterprise Park and say although there's no information that he is dangerous, he should not be approached.

Anyone who sees the escaped prisoner should call Northumbria Police.
