STRANGE ENCOUNTERS
10:16pm Wednesday 14th May 2008
On the basis that laughter is supposed to be good for you today has been a great day. Is it May Madness or what?

HEAVY DIGGING
9:31pm Thursday 8th May 2008
I have managed to take advantage of the clement conditions to catch up with my vegetable gardening and have been undertaking some rather heavy digging in order to finish planting the potatoes. It was hard work but the weeds are now in retreat and I feel that I have achieved something.

MUSIC TO THE EARSMUSIC TO THE EARS
9:46pm Sun 20 Apr 08
"Like living with a screeching violin," is how clients have described to me the effect of a wife's constant nagging. Little Girl has been learning to play the violin for four years. Today she was practising a new piece. Sometimes, I know how those clients feel.

DOMESTIC RELATIONSHIPS
9:08pm Tuesday 8th April 2008
I am intrigued by a factoid I've just been presented with. (Factoid, definition: a piece of unreliable information, presumed to be true because of the manner in which it is presented.) Apparently, a substantial number of people in Britain today will have a longer relationship with a household appliance than they will with a partner.

GETTING AWAY FROM IT ALLGETTING AWAY FROM IT ALL
9:03pm Sun 6 Apr 08
Sometime there comes a point when we just want to get away.

THE ENDOWMENT OF WORLDLY GOODS
3:04pm Friday 21st March 2008
Clients invariably bemoan the fact that upon divorce the spoils of their years of labour must be divided equally with their spouse.

NO WINNERS, JUST LOSERS
9:08pm Monday 17th March 2008
So the speculation and guess work are over as the Mills v McCartney financial proceedings completed today. Or should I say almost over, because it sounds as though they are back in court tomorrow arguing over Ms Mills' appeal against allowing the judgment to be made public.

OF RELEVANCE TO MERE MORTALS
8:34pm Friday 14th March 2008
In anticipation of the final judgment in the McCartney v Mills divorce on Monday 17 March Resolution issued a press release today pointing out that although the sums of money involved in this case are far removed from the experience of most separating couples, it does raise a number of issues relevant to more normal' divorces.

A LAPTOP BETWEEN THE SHEETS
11:32am Saturday 8th March 2008
A poll by the Sleep Council has revealed that checking texts, surfing the Internet and playing computer games in bed before we go to sleep is growing in popularity and that 1 in 4 of us now sleeps in a separate bed to our partner. Not because of computer games surely. Now I know that in California a woman recently succeeded in divorcing her husband because of his addiction to one computer game in particular, but that's not happening here in the UK yet, is it?

LOOKING AT LIFE THROUGH ROSE TINTED SPECTACLES
9:43pm Tuesday 26th February 2008
Two weeks ago on a family skiing holiday while travelling up the mountain in a chairlift with Apprentice Man, he pointed out to me the snow blowing from the top with the sun behind. He declared it to be a magnificent sight, remarking how it looked like fire and continued in glowing terms about what he believed to resemble orange flames. Mystified, I could only see white powder against a blue sky. Then it dawned and I asked if the tint on the lens of his goggles could have anything to do with it. Instantly, his illusions were shattered.
