Fowl play at the World Hen Racing Championships
The World Hen Racing Championships have been held at a country pub in Derbyshire's Peak District.
The Barley Mow was the venue for the annual race, which was won by a hen called Cooked It, trained by nine-year-old Jack Allsop. Plucked It was runner-up.
The event was marred slightly when two over-competitive hens got into a scuffle but peace was quickly restored.
