A MAN at the centre of a plot to steal £100,000 of stuffed animals, including a chimpanzee in a top hat, is facing 200 hours of community service and a suspended jail sentence.

Jason Hopwood, 42, was the mastermind behind a raid on a taxidermy warehouse in Wimbledon and stealing the monkey as well as lions, a giraffe, a zebra, a penguin, a crocodile, and a sloth.
