POLICE in Mexico have sparked controversy after locking up a woman for refusing to do her husband's laundry.
Dulce Requena Garcia, 21, was taken to a police station after her husband Edgar Alvarado reported her for refusing to wash and iron his clothes when he came home from work. She was fined $32 but because she didn't have any money she was jailed for 12 hours.
