Villagers are to hold a wake in memory of Desmond the amorous duck, who had become a local celebrity.
Desmond became famous in Compton Martin, in Somerset, because of the way he chased off other drakes who were showing an interest in his female feathered friends.
After Desmond was eaten by a fox, a flag will be flown at half-mast at the local church and mourners will have a drink in his honour at the village pub.
