POTENTIAL councillors are being asked to stand for a new authority due to be created next month.
The City of Durham Parish Council is due to be created on April 1, with the first election scheduled for Thursday, May 3. Anyone wishing to stand can now request a nomination pack from Durham County Council.
The new authority will have 15 councillors, with six members for Elvet and Gilesgate, eight for Neville’s Cross and one for Durham South.
Nominations are accepted from Tuesday, March 27 and and the deadline is 4pm on Friday, April 6.
