FA strip Terry of England captaincy

JOHN Terry has been stripped of the England captaincy due to concerns about his racism court trial.

The Chelsea defender was informed of the decision by Football Association chairman David Bernstein in a phonecall at 10am today.

It comes after Bernstein yesterday contacted all the other members of the 14-strong board to seek their views following the announcement that Terry's court case will not take place until July 9 - after Euro 2012.

The FA have refused to confirm the action but Press Association Sport understands Terry will still be eligible for the England squad for Euro 2012.

Terry denies racially abusing Anton Ferdinand in a match against QPR last year.

England, what a great country.
.
He strenously denies this allegation and has not been found guilty. But let's punish him anyway, let's undermine our England team just before the Euro's, and when England mess up in the competition we can then critise the players, as usual.
.
The England team don't need enemies, when the FA is in charge.
.
Engerland! Come on, let's get behind them! Not.

I've been called names all my life. Big deal. I don't see why the Police & Courts get the screaming ab-dabs about this sort of stuff. Different kettle of fish if he'd been accused of threatening or actual violence.

Let the clubs sort it between themselves, and stop the mega-rich dividing the rest of us.
