Excellent student Anjool Malde was an inspiration

Dani Webb spoke to friends and colleagues who were inspired by city banker

ANJOOL MALDE’S former headteacher has described him as “an outstanding student”.

John Morgan, of Conyers School, in Yarm, near Stockton, where Mr Malde studied for his GCSEs, said: “He was incredibly well-liked and excelled at school. Exams were not a problem.

Anjool made this music video with friends of the song Hallelujah.

“We had a feeling that he was going to be a success in life. He was full of spirit, he had it all and we are just devastated by the news.

“He just got on with things, nothing seemed to bother him. He was very talented musically and very able academically and did extremely well at GCSE, then achieved straight As at A-level and a degree at Oxford.

“He had a very close family and we would like to pass on our sympathies to them at this very sad time.”

A university friend described Mr Malde as a knight in shining armour, and said the news of his friend’s death had left him feeling “like a bit of me has been ripped out”.

Ravi Chopra, 23, said: “It’s a pretty tough situation at the moment, particularly in light of the manner in which he passed. Jools was an incredibly dedicated friend. He wouldn’t think twice about putting himself out for the people around him, no matter how much else was going on.

“He was literally a knight in shining armour.”

Nashtar Suri, a friend from Oxford University, paid tribute to Mr Malde on the internet social networking site Facebook.

He said: “Jools, you were a legend, unique doesn’t even come close. I can’t even imagine how many people you inspired, including myself. Not only an inspiration, but a big helping hand. You will be missed dearly. I hope you’re resting in peace.”

Another friend, Ben Coates, from Dartmouth, said: “Jools is one of my favourite people at Deutsche Bank. We socialised a lot together and I have always been amazed by his charisma, intelligence and enthusiasm. I will miss him.”
