Newcastle striker's dream motor up for sale for £150,000 in North Yorkshire

A FERRARI which belonged to England footballer Michael Owen is up for sale for an eye-watering £150,000.

With one careful owner and only 9,900 miles on the clock, the two-door 599 GTB Fiorano F1 in metallic Tour de France blue is up for sale at a dealership in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

The ex-Newcastle United striker's contract has run out and he is currently looking for a new club, but the car sale is unlikely to be due to the multi-millionaire being strapped for cash.

The 2007 612bhp model, with two year's warranty left for the cautious buyer, would have cost £198,000 new, but Owen had another £24,000 worth of extras fitted.

They include ceramic brakes worth £11,500, alloy wheels costing £2,500, a £1,350 sat nav system and a leather parcel shelf at a bargain £1,325.

The Lawton Brook dealership advertised the car in Autotrader, describing it as a stunning car previously belonging to Michael Owen.

"This is the best value 599 on the market today," it said.

Typical example of how these premadonna footballers get paid far too much for kicking a ball about.
Far too much money and in some cases just waste it as in this case.
