POLICE have arrested two more people after a Staffordshire bull terrier bit 11 children at a park.
It happened on Wednesday evening near play equipment in Burns Avenue, Blyth, Northumberland, leading nine children to require hospital treatment.
Desperate fathers ran to help after hearing screams and they carried children to safety before managing to restrain the dog.
Northumbria Police said a 34-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control.
A 37-year-old woman who was arrested on Thursday has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Superintendent Mick Paterson, from Northern Area Command, said: "Thankfully these incidents are extremely rare but we recognise that this has been a traumatic incident for those involved, their families and for the wider community.
"The dog remains in a secured kennel at this time.
"Blyth's local neighbourhood officers continue to speak to those involved and reassure local residents who have any concerns."
