TIME is running out for youngsters to have their own bedtime story efforts judged by a popular author.
Former Children’s Laureate Anne Fine, OBE, who lives in Barnard Castle, County Durham, will cast her gaze over entries in a completion run by Silentnight.
Stories must feature the bed firm’s mascots, Hippo and Duck, with the competition open to children aged between six and 12.
The best story will be illustrated, published and presented to the winner by Anne Fine and will include her foreword.
The winner will also receive £1,000 worth of books for their school, a brand new bed and a giant Hippo and Duck soft toy.
Stories should be between 250 and 500 words long and should be submitted online at www.silentnight.co.uk/sleepy-stories by Friday, May 20.
