TICKETS for Elton John's show at the MetroRadio Arena Newcastle on Saturday, December 3, will go on sale from 10am on Friday, January 29. It will be his 20th concert in the city since he first toured to Newcastle in 1971, at the City Hall, as a three-piece.
The show will be Elton’s first Tyneside visit for two years, and will see him performing songs from his new album Wonderful Crazy Night, which will be released on February 5, as well as his many hits.
Having given more than 4000 performances in a career spanning 50 years, Elton says: “The simple truth is I want to spend more time with my family, and I am only too aware of just how precious the time ahead is. My sons are growing up so quickly; their early years are just flying by and I want to be there with them. So these concerts will give me the chance to thank the Newcastle audiences who have been so faithful to me over these many decades.”
The singer has played to sell-out crowds several times in the North-East. In 2000, he appeared at Raby castle, in Staindrop, and in 2008 he played at the Darlington Arena.

From being awarded multiple Grammys and Brits, plus an Oscar and a Tony, Elton has proven his universal acclaim. In addition to selling more than 250 million records worldwide, through his partnership with lyricist Tim Rice, he wrote the music for the feature film and Broadway stage production of The Lion King.
