A FAMILY-RUN country house is opening its doors to charities in the region.

Rudby Hall, near Stokesley, opened its doors last September as a luxury venue for corporate events, private parties and accommodation.

Since opening it has hosted a number of charity events for Stockton’s Butterwick Hospice, as well as a ladies' lunch in support of Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation, which raises money for a range of good causes in Teesside.

Now its owners Martin and Sandra Johnson have announced they will continue to support their nominated charities over the coming year by hosting more events for them such as lunches, dinners and more informal open days.

Mr Johnson said: “Having worked across the Teesside business community for many years, I have always found it vitally important to support local good causes however we can. Here at Rudby Hall we have the ideal venue for hosting events and those that have taken place so far have been a huge success for the charities we’re now officially working with.”

Before re-opening last year, Rudby Hall underwent a major three-year renovation and recently opened another seven, renovated suites to more than double the number to 13.

The owners live on site with their family in the restored the Grade II-listed, 19th century property.

All of its suites are named after historic figures linked to the hall, which was a former royal residence built for King William IV’s daughter, Lady Amelia Cary.
