VISITOR attractions in the North-East have had a festive feel over the last days as television crews filmed scenes for a Christmas episode of Downton Abbey.
The cast were at Beamish Museum, near Stanley, in County Durham, and at Alnwick Castle in Northumberland for the special due to be screened in December.
The production saw parts of The Town area of Beamish turned into a set for around two and a half hours on Monday afternoon.
It is the second time the crew of the hit show has been at the home of the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland.
Streets outside Alnwick Castle were dusted with fake snow in August last year to create wintry scenes.
