SOME 'out of this world' music will be premiered in the North-East next week (Tuesday, April 21).
Computer music pioneer Peter Zinovieff and Northumberland-based poet Katrina Porteous will give ‘Field’ its world premiere at the Planetarium at Newcastle’s Life Science Centre on Tuesday, April 21.
The 25-minute performance will feature voices and computer sounds and is described as “a journey in music and words exploring strange quantum worlds”.
It is inspired by recent discoveries in physics, such as the Higgs boson.
There will also be a display by planetarium supervisor Christopher Hudson and a short introduction to particle physics for a general audience by Dr Tom Lancaster, of Durham University.
The performance takes place at 5pm. It will be repeated the following day, also at 5pm.
The show is suitable for ages 12 and up. Tickets cost £5 each. For more information, call 0191-243-8210.
