MICHAEL McIntyre stopped his show at Darlington's Civic Theatre and walked off when a woman in the front row persistently inerrupted the act.

But the record-breaking funny man isn't the first star to interrupt a performance. Here are some other stars who called for a dramatic pause:

Dame Helen Mirren: during a weekend performance of The Audience, in London's West End, the former Prime Suspect star stormed off stage to scold a bunch of drummers who were playing outside.

Richard Griffiths: when a cell phone went off during a Broadway production of The History Boys in 2006, Griffiths stopped the  show and performed the scene again.

Billy Connolly: stormed off when a member of the audience in Blackpool interrupted during a joke.

Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig: what could be worse than being admonished by two of cinema's toughest actors? When a phone went off during the play A Steady Rain on Broadway, the two actors both called out the owner of the phone.

Kevin Spacey: During a performance of Richard III in Australia, Kevin Spacey produced a laser pointer and shone it at noisy members of the audience.
