Vulnerable teenager missing from home
Sarah Ogdo

POLICE are appealing for help tracing a vulnerable Nigerian teenager who has gone missing from a County Durham hostel.

Sarah Ogdo, 18, had been a resident at the hostel in Shildon since January 19, having previously stayed in other parts of England and Scotland.

She left the premises late last Friday without telling anyone where she was going and has not been heard from since.

She speaks only pidgin English and has no immediate family either in this country or abroad - her closest relative is an uncle who still lives in Nigeria.

Miss Ogdo is described as black, slim and with straight, dark collar-length hair. She also has brown eyes and a scar on the left side of her face.

When last seen she was wearing a khaki coloured jacket with a fur hood over a grey sports top, and blue jeans.

"It's thought she had around £50 cash on her but little else," said PC Andy Cook.

"Staff at the hostel do not believe she has a credit card or a mobile phone and at this stage there are no clues where she might have gone."

"We would ask anyone who might have seen Sarah in the last few days to contact us urgently.

"Her circumstances mean she is potentially very vulnerable."

Anyone with information on Miss Ogdo's whereabouts should ring Durham Constabulary on 0845-60-60-365.
