Gazza spends night in cells

Troubled former England star Paul Gascoigne spent the night in custody after he and another man were arrested on suspicion of being drunk in charge of a car.

The 42-year-old former Newcastle United and Boro ace, originally from Dunston, Gateshead, was arrested - together with a 40-year-old man - after police were called to reports of a disturbance at a takeaway in Leeming Bar, near Northallerton, North Yorkshire.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Polices said officers were called at 9.10pm last night and arrested a 42 and 40-year-old man, both from the Tyneside area.

Gascoigne was taken into custody and is expected to be interviewed later this morning.

Its sad to see Gazza getting into trouble again with the law. What a sad way also, to see a legend live his life getting slippier and slippier into the **** creek of no return. I wish him well in his life and recovery coz his gonna need it.
