RESIDENTS are being given the chance to grill a prospective MP as he debates issues concerning the Thirsk and Malton seat.
Howard Keal, the Liberal Democrat’s prospective parliamentary candidate for the seat, is to visit Thirsk.
He is to meet voters at Rural Arts, on Westgate, between 10am and noon on Saturday, March 20.
Mr Keal said: "It’s an opportunity for people to raise questions and concerns or just come and say hello and have a coffee.
"Topics which could come up may include the threatened move of the tourist information centre and the proposed flood defences."
Mr Keal feels the tourist centre is important to Thirsk and that it should stay in its present position and that flood prevention work is crucial.
