A MANUFACTURING park which hopes to draw 1,000 high quality jobs to the region has taken another step forward.

The team behind the forthcoming TeesAMP advanced manufacturing site has been chosen.

Property agents Dodds Brown and Cushman & Wakefield will work on the ground-breaking project which is expected to bring up to 1,000 jobs to the Tees Valley.

It marks the latest step in the development of TeesAMP – one of the largest commercial property projects of its kind in the UK.

TeesAMP is the result of a partnership between Middlesbrough Council, Tees Valley Combined Authority and Cleveland Property Developments.

Middlesbrough Council has provided a £12.5m investment for the project while Tees Valley Combined Authority has provided £7.6m.

Stephen Brown of Dodds Brown said: “This is about much more than accommodation for businesses – it’s about providing a wrap-around package of support including skills and training.”

Richard Scott, partner in Cushman & Wakefield’s National Industrial & Logistics team, said: “With demand for high quality accommodation among advanced manufacturing companies, this development will bring innovative companies and high value jobs to the Tees Valley.”

The park will offer 180,000 sq ft of accommodation across 17 buildings in its first phase.

Plans for the park were recently submitted to Middlesbrough Council, and a decision is due within weeks.

Geoff Hogg of Cleveland Property Developments said: “It’s fantastic to have a high quality team – including two prominent Tees Valley companies – to make TeesAMP a reality.

“Logic Architecture is helping us create a unique, standout appearance for properties at the park. The designs mean we’ll have world class accommodation that is flexible to meet manufacturers’ needs.

“And with the expert market knowledge of Dodds Brown and Cushman & Wakefield, TeesAMP will be promoted to growing businesses that need space, skills and connectivity to fuel their growth.

“It will also help to promote the wider Tees Valley on the international stage.”
