TRIBUTES were paid this morning to a pensioner who died after being hit by a car in Billingham yesterday, Wednesday.
Gerald Mullen, 76 and from Billingham, died in hospital after the collision on Wolviston Road in the town, near to the junction with Rievaulx Avenue, at about 3.45pm.
He was hit by a Hyundai Matrix.
His family have today released a tribute to him, saying: "Gerald was a much-loved husband, dad and granddad and we are heartbroken by the tragic and unexpected loss of him."
- Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to contact PC Andrew Atkinson from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting event number 082216
