The Northern Echo:

Rockliffe Hall, near Hurworth

The Northern Echo has teamed up with Enjoy Tees Valley to run this photo competition which is looking for pictures of your favourite places in Tees Valley as it basks in the spring sunshine.

"Enjoy Tees Valley" is the new brand aimed at attracting more visitors to the area, from Darlington in the west, through Stockton and Middlesbrough to Redcar and Hartlepool on the coast. It is about talking up our area, about encouraging overnight stays and also day-trips – for example, more than 20,000 people have already visited the beach at Redcar to see the remarkable 6,000-year-old petrified forest that was recently exposed by last season's storms.

Entrants may be from anywhere, but the pictures must be taken within the five council areas of the Tees Valley Combined Authority - Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Stockton and Redcar.

And the winner will enjoy an overnight stay for two at award-winning Rockliffe Hall, including a three course dinner in the Brasserie restaurant, full use of the award-winning spa and wellness facilities, a two hour Spa Garden experience and full English breakfast the following morning.

So get out and about with your phone or camera, take some pictures and enjoy spring in the Tees Valley – which, hopefully, will be basking in some warm seasonal sunshine.
