A THEATRE is looking for enthusiastic volunteers as it prepares for its future.

A number of volunteer posts are being advertised for the Globe theatre, in Stockton, ranging from events assistants to recording, tours and archives assistants.

Successful applicants will be offered training and, depending on their role, will have the chance to support Globe-related events and tours and take part in a photography and film project to record the iconic art-deco venue’s restoration.

They will also be able to carry out research relating to the Globe’s past and create exhibitions showcasing the Globe of yesteryear.

Councillor Norma Wilburn, Stockton Borough Council’s cabinet member for arts, leisure and culture, said: “There are some very exciting opportunities to get involved with the Globe.

“It is a really important part of Stockton’s history and heritage and the volunteers will play a vital role in ensuring this is captured for future generations.

“If you’ve got an interest in the Globe it would definitely be worth applying.”
