A PENSIONER who was hit by a car last weekend has died, police have confirmed.
The female pedestrian was involved in a collision on Marlowe Road, Hartlepool, on Saturday, January 27 at about 5.15pm.
She was opposite the Catholic Club when she was knocked over by a Ford Focus.
The 79-year-old was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough with serious injuries and died today, Friday.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: "Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time.
"Anyone who saw the lady or the vehicle in the moments before the collision, or who witnessed the incident is asked to contact PC Neil Armstrong of the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit using the 101 number. Please quote event 15956."
