A TRAVELLER funeral procession with a horse drawn carriage and vehicles decked out in memory of Thomas Muldowney was held in Stockton on Tuesday.
The funeral took place at St Mary's Catholic Church at 11.30am with the procession going from Ullswater Road, Grangefield to the church.
After the service mourners accompanied the hearse, on foot, to Oxbridge Cemetery via Norton Road, Stockton High Street, Yarm Lane and Oxbridge Lane.
The travellers managed the traffic situation themselves with bus company Arriva warning passengers that it expected disruption to all bus services in the town.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: "We are aware of the funeral. The family have kindly provided the route and the details. We are not anticipating being involved."
A Stockton Borough Council spokeswoman said CCTV operators would be keeping an eye on any traffic disruption but they were not otherwise involved.
