A WOMAN is due to appear in court after she was stopped by police speeding at 105mph on the A19.
The 38-year-old, from Houghton-le-Spring, was pulled over by officers on Tuesday evening after undertaking slower moving vehicles at speed in Seaham, County Durham.
She has been charged with failure to provide a specimen and speeding and is due to appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on February 6 to answer the charges.
The female driver was also cautioned for possession of a class B controlled drug, cannabis, which was found in the vehicle, a spokeswoman for Durham Police said.
Cleveland and Durham Road Policing Unit had posted on social media over the incident and put a picture of the woman's car on its Twitter feed after it was directed into a layby by officers.
Forces across the region have been taking part in Operation Dragoon which is targeting high risk drivers committing criminal offences.
