A MOTORCYCLIST was injured and two have been arrested following a serious crash in the early hours of this morning.
Witnesses reported seeing an overturned car and a motorbike at the scene of a crash that has left the busy A1045 Thornaby Road closed in both directions to rush hour traffic.
The crash happened at around 4.30am between Trenchard Avenue, Bader Avenue and Cunningham Avenue.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said the motorcyclist had been taken to James Cook University Hospital with fractures to his shoulder and ribs.
A 17-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences following the collision.
The offences include dangerous driving and assault, with the man also being quizzed over an allegation of drink driving. Both are currently in custody.
Emergency services are currently working to clear the road, which is expected to reopen shortly.
