A PERVERT posed as a teenage girl to get a boy to send him naked photographs then tried to blackmail him for more under a different false identity.

Shaun Stainsby, 34, first pretended to be ‘Lucy’ to ask the 15-year-old to take pictures of his private parts and email them to him, a court heard.

A year later, under the guise of ‘Sophie’, he contacted the boy again, and following “general chat” requested indecent snaps, but this time he was refused.

Stainsby told the youngster he already had some, and threatened to post them on Facebook - and went on to send them to the boy’s friends.

Prosecutor Harry Hadfield told Teesside Crown Court weeks later, the photographs were put on the social media site for a second time.

In an impact statement, the teenager said he contacted the Child Exploitation & Online Protection Centre when he thought there might be other victims.

He said: “During and immediately after this ordeal, I was paranoid of everyone I knew. I don’t know who it was, and that made me worry even more. I had heard about this kind of thing, but didn’t think it would happen to me.”

Stainsby, from Stockton, also got a 16-year-old to send him a naked picture after posing as a girl of the same age on a dating site, the court heard.

Police later found he had also downloaded hundreds of film clips and photos of children being abused, and distributed two indecent images of girls.

Robert Mochrie, mitigating, said Stainsby - regarded by a probation report as a high risk of further sexual offending - would be better treated in the community.

Stainsby, of Rosthwaite Avenue, Stockton, admitted inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, inciting pornography, distributing indecent images of children, making indecent images of children and possessing an image of extreme pornography.

Stainsby was given an 18-month suspended prison sentence and ordered to go on the Northumbria sex offender treatment programme.
